Oxidation blower is an important link in the wet desulfurization process of coal-fired power plant, which is related to the overall efficiency of desulfurization. However, the old Roots oxidation blower has many drawbacks in the actual operation. In recent years, with the gradual popularization of maglev high-speed centrifugal turbo blower, its energy-saving effect in the upgrading of desulfurization and oxidation wind system in power plants is remarkable, and it is worth promoting vigorously.

A 2x640MW coal-fired generating unit of a power plant adopts limestone - gypsum wet desulfurization process. 1 furnace 1 tower desulfurization configuration, each tower oxidation air system is equipped with 3 400Kw Rootsblowers (2 transport 1 standby).

 

The actual operating power of each blower is 257Kw, because its output air volume cannot be adjusted, its output power basically remains unchanged, and excessive oxidized air often enters the tower during actual operation, resulting in energy waste. In addition, with the increase of the service life of Roots blower, the problems of high energy consumption, high maintenance costs, long overhaul cycle and large noise pollution are becoming more and more serious, and the necessity of fan transformation is becoming more and more prominent.

After full investigation and investigation, the power plant finally purchased two 200Kw Airus Maglev high-speed centrifugal blowers to replace the original two 400Kw Roots blowers and upgrade the desulfurization and oxidation wind system.

 

The actual operating power of the original Roots blower is 257.72Kw, and the actual operating power of the maglev blower after the transformation is 160.7Kw, the power saving rate is 37.64%, and the electricity cost is saved by 510,000 yuan a year! It is expected to recover the investment cost within 1.5 years.
